Dustin Moe

Junior / Senior High Band & Choir

Hello, I am Dustin Moe and I have been teaching at Washburn Public School since 2010. I teach 5th and 6th grade general music. 5th and 6th grade band, Junior High Band, 7th-12th grade choir, and Senior High Band. I grew up in the suburbs of Dallas, Texas and that is where I first fell in love with music. After High School I decided to venture to Fargo to attend college and after experiencing the friendly people and the wonderful summer weather I made North Dakota my home. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a Bachelors of Science in Instrumental Music Education in 2009. I also graduated with an Associate in Arts Degree with emphasis in Music from North Dakota State College of Science in 2005. I have lived in and around Washburn since 2010 and truly enjoy this area of the state.

I am a proud member of North Dakota United, National Education Association, Washburn Education Association, National Association for Music Education, North Dakota Music Education Association, American Choral Directors Association, and the Washburn School Improvement Committee. I believe very strongly that music education is an integral part of a well rounded education and work to help maintain that music be recognized as a core subject area.

I am a high brass specialist and have been playing trumpet for 20+ years. My music ability has found me part of many music groups from jazz, rock, band, to orchestra.  When I am not teaching you can find me working on my house in Wilton, practicing guitar, or taking my comically small dogs on a walk with my wife Danielle.

Tracy Minh

Pre-School / Elementary Music

Greetings!  I am Tracy Minh and I am excited to teach another year of elementary music at Washburn Public School.  I currently teach Pre-School through 4th grade general music, help with music festival, and accompanying students at music contest.

I am originally from Hettinger, ND.

At the very young age of 4 years old, I began playing piano and from that point on music was my passion!  In 6th grade, I decided to play the French horn and joined the band.  Throughout junior high and high school, I was involved in band, choir, jazz band and accompanied the choirs.  Upon graduating from high school, I decided to major in music education.

My educational background includes a BS degree in Music Education from the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND.  My teaching background consists of teaching K – 12 instrumental/vocal music in Lemmon, SD for 19 years.   During those years, I was the director of many music groups such as pep band, jazz band, multiple drum lines, vocal groups and children choirs just to name a few.  This past year was spent working at JW Pepper in Bismarck.   I am currently a member of the West River Winds.
I live in Bismarck, ND with my husband, two children and one dog.  My husband works at Sanford hospital.   My son is a senior at Mandan High School and is a talented percussionist.  My daughter is a sophomore at Legacy High School and swims for the Legacy team as well as for Aquastorm.  My dog is a mini dachshund and her name is Ari.  Besides music, I am actively involved with the BSC Aquatic Center teaching American Red Cross Lifeguarding and Water Safety classes.
