Washburn Music Boosters Need You!
To make a strong music program a school must have strong directors, encouraging parents, exceptional children, and a supportive booster program. Without one of these the program will suffer and right now our music booster program needs your help!
The Music Booster organization is comprised of band and choir parents who help to provide financial and physical support to the music program. As a parent of a band or choir member, you are already a member of the Washburn Music Boosters.
Music Boosters typically meet once a month during the school year and on a volunteer basis to many events throughout the year. Every music parent will be signed up to work a couple events during the year. If for some reason your schedule does not allow it there are many other ways you can help us from home.
Some of the things the music boosters are responsible for during the year include the community calendar, making and selling homemade suckers for sporting events, concessions at many home events, bake sale for winter concert, magazine fundraiser for middle school students, and the coffee fundraiser for high school students.
The money raised by our boosters program goes to taking students to music festivals, purchase of new music equipment, repair and maintenance of school instruments, and music trips.
If you are looking to encourage your child to stick with music becoming an active booster member is a great way to keep them motivated.
If you are looking for a way to be more active in the community and school then please consider being a Music Booster officer!
